Defining Websites Markets: Week 4 Part A

Rancho Vista Nursery or Armstrong Garden Center... the customer of these two establishments are seemingly the same, but with more investigation and understanding these two competitors have a few differences to who they draw into their store. 

Rancho Vista Nursery is a small nursery located in Rancho Vista, with only one location. This nursery was started by a farmhouse and built up. The website itself is simple, clean, and to the point; there is not much extra information besides the basics of what you need to know. The design also gives a family-run feel, with the friendly hand-drawn logo, the simplistic text, and the small website solely directing them to the shop. They give some key information about what they supply, who they are, as well as the story behind the shop and its location. 

The customer that would shop at the Rancho Vista Nursery would be someone who loves to shop locally, is drawn to a family-like atmosphere, as well as wants an intimate experience when purchasing their product. 

Armstrong Garden Center is a large corporate nursery and gardening supply store with stores across the United States. The store specializes in garden supplies as well as being a nursery, and has a lot more selection than a typical nursery. Their website is very established and built up with several compartments to not only shop online, but also find a location, learn about them, and even ask for advice from a specialist. The site is clean, complex, and organized, and they have made the shopping experience easy for the customer. Their logo looks professional with three colors that they use throughout the site. 

The customer that would shop at the Armstrong Garden Center would be someone that is looking for quick buying, efficient service, and no hassle. It is a chain store so there are many locations as well as online orders. 

The difference between the two shops can be seen clearly, however, each store offers a similar market and product. The Rancho Vista Nursery is for a local shopper who wants to give back to their community whereas the Armstrong Garden Center audience is someone who want to have an efficient shopping experience. As well Armstrong offers more of a selection of items and diversity within their products. The family Nursery is the family-like option for an intimate experience and the Armstrong Garden is for a corporate experience where the person will be able to get exactly what they please without to many questions. 

Both provide the nursery aspect it just depends on what the audience may value important. An efficient and quick purchase or a heart-felt investment.
